Will I be board certified or eligible to take the board exam for family medicine if I complete the PRR program?
No. While PRR will strengthen, broaden and update your knowledge, and allow you to comfortably offer outpatient primary care, it is not not a residency program.

Will I receive a medical license upon successfully completing the PRR program?
No. However, if you are taking licensing exams in the future, you will benefit from PRR.

How long will it take to complete the PRR program?
Probably 3-6 months, depending upon the amount of time you choose to study. You have an entire year to complete the PRR program, if needed.

Upon completion, will PRR help me secure job interviews?
Yes. The team at PRR will help you secure job interviews for positions that are conveniently located in your area.

Is the entire enrollment fee paid in advance?
Yes, but we do accept credit cards.

If I am no longer able to practice my current specialty (e.g. surgery) because of a physical disability, will this course help retrain me for general practice?
Yes. Upon completion of the PRR program, you will be prepared to work as a general practitioner.

How many CME credits will I earn upon completion of the PRR program?
The University of California, San Diego School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of California, San Diego School of Medicine designates this enduring material for a maximum of 180 “AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™”.
Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Will I receive a Certificate of Completion once I finish the PRR program?
Yes. You will receive two certificates — one will be from PRR indicating you’ve completed the course, and the other will be a certificate for “AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™” issued by University of California, San Diego Continuing Medical Education.

Is course support free and available?
Yes. Free course support is available by email or phone Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. PT to 5:00 p.m. PT.

If I have been away from patients for so long that I will feel uncomfortable without hands – on clinic training, do you help?
Yes, after completing the course we can arrange shadowing for a modest fee.

My specialty practice is up-and-running but growing at a slower pace than I had hoped. Can the PRR program help me grow it faster?
Yes. The PRR program can help you expand your practice by enabling you to offer primary care to your patients.
