Created in collaboration with UC San Diego School of Medicine faculty, Physician Retraining & Reentry provides experienced, medically licensed physicians with the tools to comfortably and competently practice adult outpatient primary care.

The PRR Program

Created in collaboration with UC San Diego School of Medicine faculty, Physician Retraining & Reentry (PRR) provides experienced,
medically licensed physicians with the tools to comfortably and competently practice adult outpatient primary care.

Medical Professor
16 online modules

PRR consists of 16 online training modules that cover a wide range of critical subject mater from cardiology to dermatology, medical records, telehealth care, and more. The estimated time to complete the PRR program is 180 hours.

Work at your own schedule

Participants are able to work through the program at their own pace, giving them the ample time to master each course before taking a final examination, and a one-day, in-person practicum.

Receive credits and experience

Upon completion, graduates receive 180 AMA PRA Category 1 credits from the UC San Diego School of Medicine and Certificate of Completion from PRR. PRR can also provide one-day of free shadowing for those who wish to get more experience.

Board Certification Opportunity

Physicians who complete the PRR program may apply to the American Academy of General Physicians to seek certification. This gives PRR participants a valuable accreditation that will satisfy many potential employer’s board certification requirement.
