This is a time of unprecedented change in medicine. For the first time in our history, all of the citizens of the United States will have access to health insurance. Additionally, the Baby Boomer generation is entering retirement age. This translates to many more patients with greater medical needs accessing healthcare. Primary care physicians are usually the best point of entry into the medical system. Unfortunately, recent figures indicate that the demand will outpace the supply of these physicians.
PRR is a unique program that will retrain physicians and give them the necessary tools to enter the workforce to deliver primary care. This is not your typical continuing medical education. Participants will engage in a unique online learning environment and assess their mastery of the material with multiple choice questions along the way. The culminating events will be a final multiple choice question examination and a clinical skills evaluation utilizing standardized patients. Upon completion, participants and potential employers can feel confident that competence has been demonstrated.
