Dr. Bazzo is associate director of the UC San Diego School of Medicine Physician Assessment and Clinical Education (PACE) program where he is also a clinical professor of family medicine. In addition to operating an active practice in family and sports medicine, Dr. Bazzo serves as co-director of the Primary Care Core Clerkship for the UC San Diego Family Medicine Residency Program and the UC San Diego Sports Medicine Fellowship.
William Norcross, M.D. – Chief of Quality Control; Member, Board of Advisors
Dr. Norcross is the founder and director of the UC San Diego School of Medicine Physician Assessment and Clinical Education (PACE) program. He also serves as a clinical professor of family medicine and preventive medicine at the university where – for more than a decade – he served as the residency director of family medicine.
Stephen Miller, M.D., MPH – Member, Board of Advisors
Dr. Miller has served as a professor of plastic surgery at several institutions including San Francisco General Hospital, Penn State School of Medicine, Oregon Health Sciences University and UC San Diego School of Medicine. In 2005, Dr. Miller became president and CEO of the American Board of Medical Specialties and is certified by the American Boards of Surgery and Plastic Surgery. From 1984 to 1990, he served as director of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and chairman of the board from 1989-1990. Dr. Miller was also editor-in-chief of the Yearbook of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and has published more than 200 articles and abstracts.
Stephen Schneid, MHPE Director of Assessment; Member, Board of Advisors
Stephen Schneid founded the UC San Diego Team-Based Learning (TBL) program for the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences where he serves as co-director. He received his Master of Health Professions Education from the University of Illinois, at Chicago (UIC) College of Medicine, and has over 10 years of experience in health professions education. His research interests and expertise are focused on assessment with an emphasis on multiple-choice testing and standard setting.
Thomas DeRosa – Co-Founder, CEO & Board Member
Mr. DeRosa previously served as CEO/CTO for several software companies before transitioning to the healthcare industry to apply his decades of experience in business management and development, technology and organizational development. As a PRR founder and CEO, Mr. DeRosa developed PRR into a highly regarded training program for physicians reentering practice as primary care physicians. Mr. DeRosa developed staff, promoted the program and established the enrollment process. He oversaw transitioning the curriculum online and set up PRR’s learning management system. In addition, he was instrumental in PRR’s receiving accreditation from UC San Diego School of Medicine.
Keith Winter – Board Member
With a background in corporate development and operations, Mr. Winter has served as COO for several SaaS, internet and mobile companies. Mr. Winter is an angel investor with Tech Coast Angels, the Health Innovation Pitch and serves as a venture partner with Teal Ventures.
Eddie Rodriguez – Board Member
Previously a partner at several national law firms, Mr. Rodriguez is a recognized corporate attorney in the venture capital and M&A fields. He has co-founded several companies in the medical device and technology areas, including Teal Ventures, a venture capital fund focused on disruptive innovation in digital/mobile health.

Dr. Jone Flanders, DO, FACP, FACC – Senior Medical Advisor
Dr. Flanders’ extensive clinical, health care management and medical boards experience bolsters all aspects of PRR. She provides consulting on curriculum, outreach and, importantly, ways that PRR participants can leverage their primary care training. A cardiologist, Dr. Flanders was the chief of Inpatient Medicine Services at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. She serves as treasurer and fellow to the Federation of State Medical Boards and is chair of the Hawaii Medical Board.
Rebecca Ostrander – Administrator
Ms. Ostrander has served as PRR administrator, overseeing admissions, since 2015. She previously worked in the telecom industry, for several startups and handled admissions and procurement for a new private elementary/middle school. Ms. Ostrander also worked as an executive assistant in the artist/labels department for MP3.com, remaining with the company after it was acquired by Vivendi/Universal.

Leonard Glass, M.D. – Founder
Dr. Glass served as a clinical professor of plastic surgery at UC San Diego School of Medicine for six years. As a leading physician certified by the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Plastic Surgery, he operated a private plastic and reconstructive surgery practice for nearly 30 years. Dr. Glass is a member of several professional associations including the San Diego County Medical Society, the San Diego County Plastic Surgery Society, the California Medical Association, the American Society of Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
